Worst weapon in DAYZ?

Recommended Posts

Double-barreled shotgun

The double barrel is actually a great starter weapon, ammo is abundant, its a good zombie slayer and its really common. I think in SA weapons like this should be the sort of bread and butter weapon most of of use regularly.

maybe crossbow..about bizon and fals, if you are looting military spots you won't turn to cherno soon so i keep them until i finish the ammo..then they become trash

disagree the DBS is slow firing the ammo takes up ridiculous room for the amount of shots and its useless for pvp i'd rather have a makarov as a starter headshots all around and wait for a winchester or a lee. it is not a good starter weapon

Tin cans are awesome.

So it must have to be the Lee Enfield (Because of the noise) I'm a sneaky person :)

i dont know about the worst. But whoever said that tin cans are the worst, well your lying.. there the best by far.

one tin can can knock someone out, or break their bones. and empty bottles can kill someone in one hit if you get their head..

Not to mention that tin cans damage choppers.

So next time you see a fully armed player or a chopper heading towards you, stuff using guns. get out the old Tin can and throw to your hearts content

The Bizon is the worst weapon because it gives new players the illusion that they've found something AWESOME.

As in: "Oh man, oh man, oh man, my first heli crash site!!! Nice, found a Bizon my first silenced weapon!! Yay yay yay, Ok there's no ammo with it but SURELY I'll find some."

Nope, in fact by finding the bizon you'v only decreased the size of your back pack by ten slots. Until, that is, you decide to drop it for the Ak-74 Kobra you'll find almost every time you cycle the tents in stary.

The crossbow would be great but it has a similar issue. The ammo is ridiculous. Each round takes up an entire slot and you can't retrieve the bolt from bodies.

I've honestly never even picked up a crowbar because I read about it before I started playing.

stackable ammo on a crossbow would make it a legit weapon

I suppose it depends on the map more than anything presently. For me, playing mostly Taviana, the amount of ammo needed is negated by the fact it's so common and you can easily scavenge with this weapon, filling up as you go. The power could do with being tweaked a little to make it more lethal short range but to be honest the only early game gun I'd take toa fire fight with another player would be the enfield - that should go without saying.

For me, early game weapons are more about survival than PvP and more of a means to move and quickly scavenge and gear up than actually taking on other players. Therfore if it shoots zombies and puts them down (mostly) in one quickfire shot, it's ammo is common and it makes a bit of noise to startle other players (maybe confuse them to give you a split second head start) - it's a decent tier 1 gun in my book.

But in stand alone I would prefer to see this sort of weapon along with a whole load more of melle style weapons and and less military grade weapons. Surviviors should have to consider more things such as ammo storage, magazines, noise and even maintenance when using firearms.

In my opinion the 9mm guns are the biggest disapointment. Guns such as the M9, the MP5 and the Glocks are just pants. They are rare enough to be considered "late game" weapons, which dupes players into feeling like they are decent and they just arent powerful enough to be any real use other than when stealth and precision are paramount. Maybe it's more down to style of play but I dont really find they save me much time or effort, especially against Z's.

Crowbar and Makarov. And double-barreled. Simply, because of the horrible sights and the 2 round "magazine". The reason I like the crossbow is, because it's silent and you can get your bolts back. With the double-barreled, it's the other way around. You would need to waste too much space to make it effective in combat. On top of that, with the current damage values, 12 gauge slugs do nothing to your enemies.

I avoid crowbars. I take everything I can find, even lee enfields. (only use them if I run out of ammo for anything else or if I have a life-threatening situation.)

Crowbar for sure. I picked one up once to use until I found a hatchet. That was a mistake.

I don't understand the Makarov hate. It's pretty easy to pull head shots with, ammo is plentiful, and I don't mind losing it. A Makarov and a hatchet are my prefered tools for loot runs.

Any shotgun, or pistol bar the glock or makarov.

I did exstensive testing on the shooting range mod and realised that in terms of acc the glock and revolver came out tops withthe mak not far behind the rest were shocking

Reload speed and delay between the second shoot is too long. I would prefer a Makarov over it anytime

besides crowbar which really only sucks because it's the buggiest weapon in the game I would have to say I never ever pick up the crossbow, you'll see me throwing tin cans before using that waste of space.

I think bizon sd has same problem only the ammo is way rarer so its even worse

Then you,my sir, have never used a crossbow.

I've killed many a bandit with it, including one with an m4a1 cco. One shot, to the head. Too bad he combat logged. :(

the bizon hate is strong in this thread lol. I personally love the gun for killing zeds, granted ammo spawn rate should be increased and it shouldnt be a high tier weapon should be in the same catorgory as m16s and ak74s

Hands down the shittiest weapon ever is the Crowbar. Low damage, combined with the shitty "melee system" and the fact that it never drops when you want it to, makes it by far the shittiest weapon, and I never pick it up. EVER.
