DayZ on Steam, connecting failed

I tried to come back to DayZ after a few months of not playing, and I saw that the DayZ mod was now available through Steam, so supposedly there s no need for Commander or Six Updater. I really like the idea of only using Steam.

But, it's not working. Connecting failed on every server, every time. I launched Arma2 and OA, verified integrity of game cache, installed the newest beta patches manually. I don't know what else to do. I also did a netsh winsock reset, and restarted my PC and Steam. I also run Steam as an admin.

What do?

I will update this post with a solution once I find one that works.

EDIT:::

Resolved, shitty Windows 8 firewall was blocking the app and not telling me about it.
