Zombie hearing

Recommended Posts

So reinstalled Dayz to see whats up with the changes and what not. Liking alot of them so far.

Any how, was using voice to chat with another player and seems that zombies can now hear when you actually speak but not when you type. This was confirmed on a few servers in direct and side chat. I know this was not in the game about three months ago when I played last as I used chat all the time with no issues.

So curious when that came out and what patch because I cant find it. Any one have any other info on it ?

It is possibly from the 1.7.5.1 release ... cos I don't think that was the case prior to that release. I was on the radio tower near Cherno the other day ... saw a Zombie chasing a fresh spawn and decided to dispatch the Zombie with my CZ550 ... I dispatched the Zombie but ended up with at least 15 Zombies swarming the tower ... so there are definitely some changes on the Zombie hearing ... I have tested Direct VON yet ... I might actually give it a bash ... just for kicks. :)

I don't know why the added this , now people more forced to use programs like Skype and TS to talk in game.

Havn't test it much but it sounds kinda stupid.

I think they have it toned down again, I think the Z's should definately investigate DC like they would a flare but from what I can tell it has no effect again in the latest beta..

Yeah so spent a couple hours testing this. Side chat is hearable out to 100 and direct is hearable out to 80. So much for connunication. Bake to vent

People are such babies. Instead of being a little bitch, why not adapt and have fun with it. Imagination can be a wonderful thing, role play a little. You are so fearfull of losing something that you won't allow yourself to have fun with a feature that if you played games over 10 years ago you would be dreaming about. "Imagine if when I talked into my mic my voice would be heard in the game as though I was really there!"
