Dayz Indepedent

I'm want to get the Dayz mod, but I heard from my friends that Dayz might become independent game. If that is true, would I have to pay for the game again? I don't want to buy Arma 2 and then have to buy Dayz if it goes independent.

The standalone should be out soon, but I would say buy Arma 2 anyways! And either way, the mod is still great fun, and Arma 2 is a great game all by itself. However, to answer your question, yes you will have to buy the standalone when it come out.

If you do decide to purchase ArmA 2 to play the DayZ mod, then yes you will need to buy the standalone when it comes out.

The mod is there at least. I knew about the standalone but I bought Arma2 and OA anyway.
