Stupid question needs stupid answer!

So I've actually been playing DayZ for months now, so I'm not exactly a new player, but I have a very basic "I should know this" question:

How do you throw a can?

I've heard of players doing so in the forums, but I'm not sure how you would go about doing so. I'm sure the answer will be facepalm obvious, but hey... might as well ask. Thanks guys!

If I recall correctly you throw stuff the same way as you throw chemlights and flares. Have one in your inventory, select it the same way as you select your flare, and throw it.

Press F to toggle your weapons until you get "Throw" option. The option will come as long as you have a throwable item in your inventory (not in backpack).

And don't worry, there are no stupid questions :)
