Survivor Joeseph before DayZ

-----------------------------

"Did you hear about the infection on the news, Karl?" Joeseph asked, as he watched the news on an old, half broken, dirty Television.

"I have. From what I have heard, the whole of the north west has been infected and the army has been sent up to try and prevent it from reaching us here in Chernogarsk." Karl said, with a mild excitement.

Joeseph paced the room. He looked tired and worn out. His long, thin face, was a Pale yellow. He has black rings under his eyes and he had aged greatly. Around a third of his hair was white now. Joeseph continued to pace, then sat down and let out a sigh. He looked down at his hands, the strength of a 50 year old man could not be seen in them. They looked like they belonged to a person of at least 70 years of age. He rubbed his hands together trying to warm them up, it was cold when most of the heating was off, especially in mid winter. The prices for oil were out of control and many uncluding Joeseph had resorted to putting the heating on, when it got too cold. Eventually he looked up, resignation in his eyes.

"This infection has been going on for a total of 6 months so far both the worlds best scientists and the military have failed to prevent its spread. It's only a matter of time before it reaches us. Whether it be a in two months or two weeks." Joeseph explained. "By that time I want both your family and my family to move up into the mountains. It will be the safest place, I for one, DON'T want to be chased by those things."

Karl walked into the kitchen and put the kettle on.

"You're being silly Joeseph. The military and the scientists haven't stopped it because they were caught off guard. This will be over before you know it." Karl said with no trace of doubt.

Joeseph picked up the TV remote and changed the channel until he found something that interested him.

"Do you not have family up in the north west? Have you heard their views?" Joeseph questioned.

Karl poured the hot water that had been boiling, into the mugs.

"Fuck Joeseph. Were are the god damned tea bags?" Karl shouted.

For a minute Joeseph didn't answer. After a his senses had returned to him he shouted for Karl.

"Karl come in here NOW!" Joeseph gasped. "They have predicted that the infection will be here is less than one week, it's fucking airborne!"

Good luck mate.

I'm in the process of developing some fiction myself.

Hopefully we can get a separate dedicated thread set up so others with an interest can access some material.

Otherwise you may, unfortunately, find there is some opposition to our stories...

I don't mean to be offensive and I love the idea of writing stories for games (I have done similar things many times in the past.) but as someone who studies English seeing all the comma splicing, grammatical errors and random tense changes made me cringe.

However I presume that English isn't your first language?

Anyway It's probably just me, I always notice/get annoyed by that kind of stuff.

Other than that great work in my opinion.

No English is my first language, It's more of me being careless, than anything else. I tend to listen to music, while doing these sorts of things, thus that means, I pay only around half of my attention, if that much at all.
