Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted February 22, 2013 Are you:20+English-speaking (doesn't have to be your first language, just as long as we can communicate, that's fine!)In possession of a working microphoneBased somewhere that will get a playable ping to UK/EU servers? (we have at least one US player, so they're fine)Looking for a ragtag bunch of idiots to wander round Chernarus and get shot at with? Then look no further! What we're about:Okay, so let's get this out of the way first and foremost. We're not a clan. We don't have a website or rules or a probation period or anything like that. We're simply a bunch of gamers who like to play DayZ with people who know that they're playing a game and that it's not to be taken too seriously (honestly, if we got mad every time Chris smashed our car into a tree or Hayley broke someone's legs, we'd all have ragequit ages ago! :P)We have a TeamSpeak that we use when we're in-game, just because it makes things easier. We generally all play survivor as far as I know, with opinions on banditry ranging from Hayley's "No, not now, not ever and if you do it near me, I'll shoot you in the backside" to my "I have no moral objections to it, and am happy to play bandit on private hives". Age-wise, we're spread around the 20s - I believe our youngest member is 20, and our joint-oldest are 28 - we don't really mind how old you are, but we would prefer to keep things 20+ - we tried a couple of younger players, and it didn't really work out. Let's put it this way - if you don't act like an idiot, then we're not going to demand to see your ID. ;)What we want from you:Nothing! As long as you don't act like an ass when we're playing with you, we don't care how often, when or where you play. Sometimes in the evening we decide that we're all DayZ-ed out for the day so we might play a little bit of Wasteland if that's your thing - don't fancy that? That's cool, keep on playing and we'll meet up when we log back in. If we decide we want to head to Stary to pick up some loot and you're all set and would rather head on up to the Northwest Air Field, go do it - we're not a squad, we don't have a 'leader' or any crap like that - we're just regular gamers who want to play DayZ with a few friendly faces to give us blood transfusions when we fall over trying to walk across some small rocks.Getting in touch:Steam is probably the best way - all of us are on there, and it's the easiest way to keep track of people and see when they're online. At some point, I may even create an invite-only Steam Group so we can all stay in touch without having to make sure that everyone has everyone else on their friends list. Either way, that's the best way to get in touch, my username is Jason051984 - feel free to add me and we can have a chat. :)If you don't have Steam, throw me a private message on here, or just reply to the thread.Simples. Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) how about a 16 year old? It's difficult to say.The main issue we had in the past with the younger guys was twofold - one, they simply wouldn't shut up - we had one guy who spawned away from the group and then proceeded to give us a running commentary for the next hour or so about every zombie he found and how it was chasing him. Usually in a fairly loud voice, too. We don't mind communicating and being outgoing, but there's a limit - we were all too soft to just tell him to shut up as well, so we grimaced and put up with it for an hour before going to bed early because we just couldn't take any more. I'm not suggesting that we're about to pigeonhole all sub-20 players as mic-spammers based on a couple of bad experiences, but it has left us a little gun-shy with the younger players. The other reason is more straightforward - when there's a 10-12 year difference between members of the group, there's not always an awful lot to talk about when you're not actively discussing DayZ, or when there's just two of you online and you're starting that long walk Northwest from Stary. It's not intended to be a 'you're not mature enough' thing, because I disagree strongly that you can make an assessment of someone's maturity based solely on a number, but there can occasionally be a certain degree of awkwardness when you realise that the person you're playing the game with is closer to your kids' age than yours!I'd be up for this matey! You guys sound like a decent bunch of lads to play with, I usually play most days and I'm 20 years young! been playing from the start so I wont need my hand holding hahaDaww, but holding hands as we skip through the forest is like the #1 reason I play the game! :PI am all of these things. Also, I know where the gold is.Wait, the gold? There are leprechauns in Chernarus now? Quick, after their lucky charms! Kaptijn 0 Posted February 22, 2013 Ahoy, 19-y-o here, new to the game here and I get the feeling this game just isn't fun playing on your own. From the Netherlands but I speak English pretty fluently. Silent type of guy though. So anyways, if you want to accept a casual nooby to play with now and then, in game that is, add me on steam: lucsmolders
