Question about logging into a forum account, and if a accounts need renewal.

First off I am sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I did some searching on the forums and could not find anything about this so here we go.

As you know the traders and traitors list original poster/creator is DancingBear. He is currently attending a university since he doesn't have much free time on his hands he gave me permission to his forum password, to keep on updating the list. Anyway so I have been logging into the account and updating everything just fine for a good few months now, and suddenly I can not log into the account any longer. I am entering the right characters I am not on CAPS lock and I have the correct password written down on my desk that has been working. The only thing I haven't been doing is actually posting with his account I just use it to "edit" the list. So I want to know if after a certain period of time does a account need renewal via e-mail conformation?
