Suggestion: Well drilling kit?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

After talking with a few of my group, this idea is something we though had relevance.

Eventually, you as a player will find an area you consider home. This will most likely be off the beaten path and away from civilization. For this reason, would it not be a good idea to have the ability to create a well for drinking. Chern is a coastal area and an artesian well should be fairly easy to get anywhere from 50-75 feet down.

Anyhow, love it or hate it... thats a suggestion.

Well, this would be impossible without specific machinery. Unless you found a drilling rig mounted on the back of a truck, the only other legitimate way of making a well would be to dig. If you tried to dig the well, you would need a shovel. To dig a well with a shovel, you would need a digging animation(or something like that) that would last at LEAST 30 minutes to be remotely realistic...

Besides, there are plenty of AMAZING campsites near, or at least reasonably close to a water source that are out there. ;]

...Or you could make a 5 minute run to a town and grab a few sodas.

Synix,

Ive actually dug a short well by hand and yes it sucks, that being said, there should be an option at some point to "rebuild".

Small buildings might be able to be constructed, wells dug and just something that will make a more permanent solution than just tents and cars for storage/going into town for water.
