The Day After Tomorrow, The Anarcho-syndicalist model as being the most appropriate for an emergent post Apocalypse society.

Recommended Posts

Anarcho-syndicalism is a branch of anarchism which views revolutionary industrial unionism or syndicalism as an appropriate vehicle for subjugated classes in capitalist society to regain control over the course of their own destiny.

In the post Apocalyptic world of Day Z where organised Capitalism has come to a dead and rotting end and where the spirit of true laser fair archery prevails. Syndicalism can be viewed both as a strategy for facilitating the survivors self-activity and as being an alternative co-operative economic system upon which to base a democratic regime of production for the satisfaction of human need.

Excellent post CrayZee. A really interesting thing about this is the parallels that exist in DayZ in its current barbaric/tribalist state (Bandits, Lone wolves and small co-ops). Anarchist societies, including Anarcho-syndicalism (AS), have an inheritent problem in maintaining a force capable of contending with external agression. As I've learned, wandering around saying 'friendly' gets me shot more often than not and a AS society would be up against a similar situation. Could it even get that far?
