1000+ ping spikes.

When playing on any server, every half an hour or so I get ping spikes of 1000+, the rest of the time it hovers around 70.

I think its solely when I play dayz when it goes to 1000, is there any way to monitor my internet since I wont notice it unless Im playing a game I can get kicked from.

I don't know what information to give you that might assist in the diagnosis so feel free to ask and I will provide.

I dunno, mate. It happens to a friend of mine. His ping jumps to about 20,000, lags the server out for a couple of seconds and goes back to normal.
