Can My Computer Record DayZ?

Recommended Posts

I have recently bought a new GPU and i am wondering if I can record DayZ and arma 2 OA.

My specs are:

AMD Radeon HD 7950

4GB RAM

AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor

I started recording on a server in DayZ and I was getting good FPS but in other servers i'm getting terrible FPS. I am wondering if it is the server that I am on or my graffics settings in DayZ.

If anyone could help me I would be very grateful.

The terrible FPS is probably due to your relatively weak processor. Everything else is fine, so upgrading just the CPU would get you set for recording.

You got a HUGE bottleneck going on there. Get an X4, and you should be able to record* games without a problem.

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition:

Also, if your MOBO is OC capable, then purchase an aftermarket cooler such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ VEVO.

*messed up on the wording -- edited it now lol

Considering how expensive the 7950 is I'm really surprised you haven't already upgraded the CPU by now. I'd say the bare minimum would be a quad-core, but I'd recommend either the (assuming you're sticking with AMD) FX-6300 or FX-8320/50.
