spezi 1 Posted February 14, 2013 You should make players fall down randomly while running in the woods without light. The faster they run, the higher the chance to fall.People would have to use light and not just adjust gamma settings.Optional:Maybe with a little chance to hurt yourself or that an item would drop on the ground from your bag.
Rekli 995 Posted February 14, 2013 you would need to trip on something for that to happen....ou cant really fall on tamac now can you?......also what will you have to do to change the code so Nvgs and torches nullify this?

Pokey (DayZ) 103 Posted February 14, 2013 Night in DayZ is bad enough without the chance of falling over and possibly hurting/breaking bones.Bad idea.

thesodesa 99 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) I would much rather have fixed objects like exposed roots in forests on the map. Running over these would always trip you over, it's just that in the dark they would be harder to spot which would make people watch their step, as in walk, when moving through dark woods. Falling over like this might have a chance of spraining you ankle. I'd like to see as many of these stupid chance procs taken out of the game as possible so I feel that this would be a more realistic way of simulating these 'random' injuries. mr_chabowski@live.co.uk 2416 Posted February 15, 2013 It's been suggested before, sure, but I still like the idea. It'd be best to only run the risk of tripping over certain scenery items, and only during sprinting, otherwise nighttime will just be a massive pain in the ass.TheSodesa has a point. Arbitrary triggers just shouldn't be used in DayZ if the aim is to make things authentic.Action/reaction is the way to go.
