Okay so I bought Arma 2 , so the question here is that if I need the other one, for example ARMA 2: Combined Operations etc.~

(and another question why does it say Arma is free but on steam it cost money?)

You need arma 2 and arma operation arrowhead. OR you need combined operation (which is both in one package)

A2:CO, aka ARMA 2: Combined Operations is *required* for DayZ. It is exactly the combination of the original ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead so if you already *purchased* ARMA 2 you only need Operation Arrowhead to fulfill the requirement.

ARMA 2 FREE is like a "lite" version of ARMA 2, it's a taste of what the game can be when you actually own it but is not enough to run DayZ.

ARMA free was released as a "free version"...meaning its not a complete version of ARMA II.

It serves up almost everything offered by the original Arma 2 - minus the campaign, HD graphics and support for user-made addons and mods.

Once again arma 2 free IS enough to run dayz (with AO of course). I don't know why so many people keep saying you need the full version. Check your facts before posting, you might have cost this guy money.

I'd sure like to see an outline of how to do that. arma2 free specifically states it does not support mods, maybe so they can make some money on the full version?

And money? It's like $10 more if he's buying OA anyway.

correct, i only have the arma 2 demo off of steam and i bought OA, day z works fine and the graphics appear identical to those who purchased both

Well thats 20$ down the drain , could of saved 10$ and time but oh well.
