DE 4265 - Hackers Paradise???

Recommended Posts

Honestly - i dont know if this is the right place for my posting...

Nevertheless: I play on different servers, everywhere i "see" hackers.

But the things that happen on DE 4265 on a regular Basis - dont know if any1 of you had similar events taking place...

Yesterday there was one guy (or two?) driving around with a tank (!!!) shooting people. In the sky flew a Hind and some kind of a Jet. I was lying around on top of one of Chernos industrial buildings - suddenly i heard steps on the roof. I didnt see any one. Seconds later my character started hovering, slowly moving (of course without me doing ANYTHING) over the edge of the building. Then i fell down. Game over.

Isn't it a bit of the admins job to keep an eye on things like that? Of course some (probably most) hackers stay undetected - but acting THAT obvious? Still nothing happens??? I think there is more in being an admin than just rent a server, switch it on and then scratch your balls, doin nothing... Of course side channel was deactivated so no one could even think about reporting this to an admin...

They're everywhere and unless you have the time to staff your server 24/7, there's not a whole lot you can do. Even then, scripts are ran without a trace in the logs and you'll have no idea who did it.

You do the best job possible trying to mitigate attacks and rollback when needed, but you'll never stop the scripting.

Scripts can be traced in the logs. Though I do agree, if you want a 'hackerfree' server you need admins in there 24/7 to keep eyes on the logs every single second of the day. Even then admins can only act when a hacker did something... not beforehand unfortunately :(

I bet there were admins on the server - but as soon as the side channel is turned off there is no way of even reporting that someone is driving around with a tank in cherno... That was so much pissing me off...
