Suggestions: Animal/Zombie interaction - the Bell in Cherno.

Recommended Posts

  1. Animals get attacked by Zombies. Currently, the zombies are oblivious to animals. It would be cool if seeing them aggro'd the zombies resulting in attacks on animals by zombies... leaving a gutted animal with infected meat. Also, aggroing on animals might cause a player to get chased if the animal caused aggro results in the player being seen.
  2. The bell in Cherno: So, this church bell goes off every once in a while in Cherno... it would be great if that aggro'd all the zombies in the city toward the bell, resulting in any players in their path to the bell being chased.

Yeah I've always thought the zombies should attack animals too...

I also think there should be loads of useless stuff to do in DayZ too... like being able to ring the bell in cherno...

Ring the bell in Cherno, attract all the local zombies, hide really well in some back room, friends loot up the surrounding buildings, zombies eventually leave, sneak your way out, meet up with friends, result.

Of course, it's never that easy! :D

I consider humans/animals in the same food chain, no different for zombies to react to an actual, warm blooded flesh-bodied individual.. Should have the same outcome when it's for zombies..

Zombies strike for hunger and gaining control over the masses; in simple terms, I do agree with this idea.

Most animals would probably run away due to the zombie's scent that the animals can sense of a dead corpse. Maybe rabid/packs of certain animals could strike against zombies as to believe that the zombie's meat is for consumption and end up dying since the virus only spreads through humans. Instead of animals reanimating to 'zombies', they can just simply die. That's if the animals introduced are carnivorous breeds.

With the bell in Cherno, maybe it'd just attract multiple zombies around open fields. Which means there would be more zombies being attracted to that sound. Making Cherno a hotzone.
