i played dayz since friday, it was completely fine friday and saturday. had a good time with a friend and no issues at all. joined servers with ease and no fps lags whatsoever

since this update from sunday this mod has turned in complete garbage

first of all half of the servers aren't even working (inb4 don't pick the grey ones; i KNOW, even 70 % of the white ones either have no sound, or i have the biggest FPS lag i've ever had)

then why would you spawn people without a gun, food or water. it was fine before and it's complete bullshit that this is all removed

also, what happened to the fucking zombie aggro range? i used to be able to crouch quite near them. not too close obviously, but now i get fucking attacked from miles away. before this update i could even run at the same distance and not get spotted. the aggro range was completely fine how it was.

line of sight zombies? nice joke, still able to see me through walls.

really dunno what has happened to this mod and i'm sure it's not only me, but this is utter crap, i have to join over 5 different servers to actually find one that's working, and oh - it's an american server, and i'm from europe.

and also a sidequestion: is loot + zombie spawning decided by the game difficulty? (for example less loot & zombies on regular, more on veteran).

An alpha will provide changes to the game to test the waters and to gain feedback, to ultimately have a better game when the mod is actually officially released.

Being an entitled whiner does not help the game come out of alpha.

Yes, I'm getting the same issues and I'm afraid my character is gonna die somehow due to the bugs and stuff. No need to complain tho. The next update might be more reliable. It's still just a game and it's in alpha state. I'm lucky I am allowed to play this. I've never played a game that was still alpha and I am happy to be a part of the development ^^ Don't get mad cause the update "ruined" some things. That's how development goes. You add all kinds of shit to your work, hoping to get something good and in the end you scratch everything that didn't work.

I am toasted the Bis beta pach sux, steam is total not Friendly with this mod using beta patch. I have play every mod, for arma. Never ever had a problem. now my arma 2 AO, all mess up try to get a server. Oh yes the sound thing is crazy too. I way think in my side.

Dolina - Day 10.

First i end up aggroing basicly every zombie i encouter, blowing 5 dmr mags, basicly doubling my zombie count in 1 day, more then i've killed all week.

Continue to due to so endlessly untill at one time i die.

Respawn, take 1 step, aggro 2 zombies, no weapon, i run, find a shed, now has 3 zombies in it, no gun anywhere, and everything has zombies in them, the little sheds you cant even enter, even saw 1 'in 'a dog shed. I realize its alpha but its pretty shitty as it is.

I can run Battlefield 3 on high setting and get a constant 25-20 FPS. I can run Tribes Ascend at 30+ on max settings. It appears that the FPS keeps going down with every update. That's when you can finally connect. I wish there was standards for the servers or one central login server. My average ping is 25-35 with no d-sync. I am not expecting super performance but I do expect the game to be playable at least. Even with the settings on low and latest Nvidia drivers don't help. I am also picking a server under a 50 ping and that makes no difference. I am just going to try it when a new update comes out until or if a playable version comes out. This really sucks because again when 1.60 was out there were not these issues. I wish that rocket would have focused more of the performance then trying to change the game to start with no weapons, other bullshit, etc. It seems like that was his focus. The game needs to be made fucking playable and bugs fixed before the game starts to go through drastic changes.

The game needs to be made fucking playable and bugs fixed before the game starts to go through drastic changes.

This blows my mind...

Changes happen to break things, things that are broken happen to be fixed by changes. It's a vicious cycle.

The last few updates have all contained fixes aimed at increasing performance, noticeably these haven't always worked or they have and something else now needs work.

Imagine if we only released fixes for the one issue you're complaining about. It would be ten seconds before another issue would be picked on for not being resolved or people would complain that the design is going no where (WHEREZ OUR CONTENTS!?!?).

It's been said before that Alpha is for fleshing out the design of the mod, certainly we want it to be stable and we work towards that but this the key time to mould DayZ in to what it one day will be. The idea is to work on as much of the game as possible while keeping it stable while the idea for future development (i.e. Beta) is making it as stable as possible.

For example, lets try saying what we don't like about the current build and then follow up with details on what we'd like changed and perhaps even with an explanation or justification as to why.

People are having problems with the mod, that's a given. DayZ is not finished, not by a long shot.

You guys help us make the game, but only when you provide useful information.

fair enough, i can tell you that the following things need to be changed or reverted.

(these are all obviously my own opinions, even though i think it would make the game alot better)

- spawning without a gun is a bit overkill ESPECIALLY with the increased aggro range of zombies.

- we are spawning without any food or drinks, i assume this is a bug (think i've read that somewhere) but this has to be reverted aswell

- zombie aggro range; in my opinion just ridiculous, i think it was good how it used to be. you can't even come a little near zombies and you're already spotted.

- FPS lag issues/server joining issues. i've experienced this over the last 2 days. ALOT of the servers i try to join either have no sound (can cycle around zombies without them seeing me) or i have the biggest FPS lag a man can ever have. dunno what is causing this, but i used to be able to log in any server and have no issues at all

- sometimes when i want to drop something to the floor it just drops my whole inventory, quite annoying.

i've been experiencing these issues ONLY with the new 1.7.1+ patch, it was fine before. these have obviously been mentioned in other threads already but if this is what you guys would want to see - here ya go :)
