What are the different speaking ststems? I dont want to chat about what i had for my tea but more if I see someone I want to communicate with in a moments notice.

Exactly the same in dayz, not so much in arma. If you encounter a player at close range use the direct chat channel .

In general, use direct chat. That's the equivilent of speaking out loud in-game. People within a certain distance (80-ish Metres I think, might be wrong) will be able to hear you.
