Try something different!

Recommended Posts

That's what I've been doing this week. So instead of my usual lone-wolf treck around the map, I've been helping maintain vehicles, flown across the map with Derpy's crew in a full heli of guys to find people and parts, stood in the fire station at Cherno in the biggest zombie attack I have ever seen (at least 50 of them and then they kept on coming!), hunted bandits, shot out their wheels and fuel tank, shot hundreds of zombies, been on a low fly under Cherno's "bridge", plummeted to the ground and died in another heli-in a failed loop the loop attempt, died repeatedly and laughed a lot. A few short videos of Derpy's are here....

Edit: Apologies for my language in the videos. It's like Tourette's Syndrome but with zombies. I can't stop swearing when I'm under attack.

Try something new... Stop looking for gear all the time. Use what you have and excel with it.

These days most people just run right towards NWA the moment they spawn and then either get shot halfway there by a roaming band of 5 bandits or get shot at the airfield. And in the off chance they don't get shot, they find some crappy weapon that they could find in Cherno or Elektro anyways and then they camp and wait for hours upon hours... When, once again, they would find all they need in Cherno and Elektro and would also find people to fight/help depending on their preferences.

Try something new, don't spend day after day alone in the middle of nowhere.

...or don't spend your time doing the same old PvP stuff, hanging around the cities killing everyone. Seems to me there are far more people doing that.

So, to get my thread back on track - I'm saying try something different, try something that you don't personally do normally, and have fun with it! There are so many thousands of servers out there. Why aren't you on dozens or hundreds of them with lots of characters - be brave. Live in some lives, die in others! :beans:

Sounds like something I do all the time. =P I find it allot more fun helping newbies, doing vehicle/loot trades, and transporting people... Not to mention it's allot more satisfying when you take down a skilled bandit.

I'm sorry but the servers i play on tend to have lots of carebears and no action what so ever. The servers where there is action are always plagued by hacks every single day. Sometimes several times per day.

And to me it seems most people just want to find vehicles and farm loot spots for the AS50. Then when they find the weapon they are too damn scared to fight with it.

EDIT:

Mind you, i have done it all... I have been a hero, i have owned a helicopter and all the different kinds of vehicles. I have had full gear (AS50, NVG, Rangefinder, Coyote backpack, GPS, M4's, FAL's and even the L85AWS when it was still in the loot tables) and i have been a 1337 sniper, hung around NWA like most "professionals". At one point i owned 5 vehicles on the same server.

The one thing all that had in common was BOREDOM. You spend your entire days just looking for stuff and fixing vehicles.

If you run into someone "friendly" you still end up leaving him behind because you don't want a hatchet to the back of your head. And in most cases people are just out to get you any way they can including claiming to be friendly and even acting as such until they decide it's time to take your stuff from you.

Nope, it's far more entertaining engaging in a full blown out war in Elektro using nothing but a double barreled shotgun.

EDIT #2:

Oh, and scaring the living shit out of other players. Especially noobs.

Try something different, so I never shoot on sight, thus I should? Hmm. Maybe not that bit. But maybe bandit hunt rather than avoid, that would be interesting. :)

Last night I had the opportunity to kill 2 guys and take their Bus. I didn't, played friendly and asked for a ride. They shot me and drove off. I should have KOS and lold away with their gear.

Lesson learned haha

I stopped playing bandit and am trying to become a hero now... Way more intense than shooting everyone I run into.

Let's start with something the majority of the community can try: don't shoot on sight

I don't KOS all the time, i just make damn well sure they are scared. VERY scared.
