Best place to start a hideout?

Me and 3 friends are currently right outside the northwest airfield, I have a motorcycle and they have a UAZ. Now we need a place with food, water and preferablly some gas to hidout at. Small towns arent so much of an option because we are low on blood and ammo. So zombie free too. Any help would be appreciated.

Now, go to the nearest hospital in Berezino and get some blood bags, but if you have matches, a knife and a hatchet, you can kill the animals around, gut them and take the meat, then get some wood and make a fireplace to cook the meat. Eat it. Each piece restores 800 blood.

Well I don't think there's any gas tanks that don't have zombie spawns around it, but anywhere near a water source would probably suit your other needs, provided to have the tools to hunt and a canteen. Might be worth your while to set up nearish to Berezino for medical supplies, but if not, at least make a trip there and load up blood and morphine.

If you want a low key gas tank to use, there's one in the NW area, near Skalka, about 013 019. It's unmarked on the dayz.db map.

The is no such thing is DayZ. Nowhere is safe, and you can and will lose everything in an instant.

Look at the dayz db map and find an area that isnt close to any loot at all or on a popular route. DO NOT hide up north at the ne or down the east of the map. somewhere in the middle so people won't purposefully go looking for vehicles experienced players know exactly where to look for bambis that have found there first hilux :)

but for your question you should do

In a forest.

Far form road and big town.

Don't be align between two big town or good loot spot (people with no car with go strait forward and might find your camp by mistake).

In my opinion the best place i found to set up camp or hide is (circled in red)

Gas station to the North west, Polana just to the West, Berezinho just to the East with an Hospital there.

Then set up camp wherever people have NOT suggested.

That spot is on the edge of the tree line that leads to one of the sniping spots overlooking the Factory near Orlovets (a place where people like to make bases) and has a deer stand close by. You have been quite lucky not to have your stuff discovered there.

Into some shithole like Bor, so if you would reveal your tents location in sidechat, no-one wont even bother to show up.

Pick two cities you know well and feel comfortable looting, then pick a landmark you're good at finding that's between them but slightly off to a side. Put your tents down near some pine trees between those three things.
