jacknapier2099 (DayZ) 2 Posted January 26, 2013 Greetings everyone, I have been along time fan of this mod and like many of you await in anticipation the culmination of this mod into standalone. I stopped playing g the game six months ago because of the hacking. I have been turned into an animal install killed teleported and the like so yes my jimmies were rustled. I have been looking at the forums and in the interim looked at Warz. I was wondering if the mass hacking of this beautiful ecosystem has been curved at all as my craving for beans and violence is returning. Can any of the seasoned players in the community provide some feedback? I thank you in advance.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted January 26, 2013 I've been on the main hive a few times and haven't seen any hackers, my mate said someone spawned a dog when he played there last week though, lol.I'd advise finding yourself a whitelist protected private server to play on, I haven't seen a hacker for months! Apparently they do pop up every once in a while but they'll be dealt with swiftly on well admined servers and in extreme cases (mass teleports etc.) admin will generally roll back the server.Check out the private hive sub-forum for details on loads of servers...http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/64-private-hive-discussion/
Testwd3r235 2810 Posted January 26, 2013 Still many hackers on public hives but private hives rarely have any.
jacknapier2099 (DayZ) 2 Posted January 26, 2013 Sounds good I miss the experience of dayz sneaking looting and hunting animals for food. I was never into banditry but more of a low radar player quiet and well I really enjoyed it. For me the challenge was to enter cherno and elektro undetected and getting in an out . I ran into some players but usually was not engaged. What about desync anything done on that?
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) There's been literally hundreds of changes. It's probably easier if you take a look through the changelogs of all of the updates released since you left. There's a new combat log mechanic, new vehicles, new maps available, lot's of bug fixes and subtle changes too. Edited January 26, 2013 by Fraggle
sobieski12 835 Posted January 26, 2013 Just find a sever with "Active admins", and I stress the word "ACTIVE".* There are a couple decent servers of which are being well maintained. As for the official public hive, I'd stay away.* Still plenty of hackers on that, the admins can't check the logs or do anything versus those hackers.- Only ban random people.
