Horse sound?

Recommended Posts

Do you ever hear the sound of a horse when running through the woods or an empty field?

It's like the sound a horse makes when it snorts out of its nose. There's no other explanation as to what It might be coming from.

A zombie, a player trolling on a mic, some eerie sound effect that you have confused with a horse.

How are these new players hearing this yet no one else can? Maybe you're all mistaking it for a zombie growl?

Yes, I hear it too. So either we're all losing our minds or it's one of those sounds that is included in the background. It's like when I'm running, I can hear my kit making noises but I also hear a noise like a man with a blocked nose, sort of snorting or chocking. But then I might be nuts, remember.

YorkEagle, re that twig - me too. The times I've spun around. Of course, the one time I didn't spin around I got shot in the back. :o

Maybe you don't listen. Playing your pony dubstep above gameplay noises.

I hear that when using my laptop speakers for sound, but when wearing my headphones I realize that it is the sound of a bird's wings beating as it takes off.

You're all lucky to be alive. Rumor has it that a monster roams the forests of Chernarus. It's half man, half horse. It's not a centaur. It's something far more evil and disturbing.

Every time you hear that snort be aware that you are not alone.

(EDIT: well shit. the photo won't post)

I always thought the 'horse' noise was a nearby animal and the sound of the tin cans rattling was a zombie spawning.

Thank you all! I thought I was having Ketamine flashbacks from the 1990s!

It's definitely a horse snorting and I only hear it I the woods. Very different from the startled pigeon/dove/teal taking off sound heard if you enter the forest running.

Male deer make a very similar snorting noise, but only when in rut.

THis could explain the horse sounds ...

See what is written in the zombie survival guide under topic

"Transportation / Alternate / The Horse":

"

No one can dispute the obvious advantage of an escape on horseback.

Fueling from a gas station becomes irrelevant. Extra supplies are

reduced to feed, blanket, and some additional medicine. Terrain

options increase, as four hooves don't need a road." etc. etc.

"A drawback, specific to dealing with zombies,

is that horses are notoriously spooked by the undead. Even the scent

of a zombie, carried by the wind and maybe miles from the source, will

be enough to send most horses into hysterics. This could be an advantageous

early-warning system...

" etc.

The sound is supposed to be the sound of a bird flapping its wings in a hurry to get away.
