FPS Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello

First I haven't played dayz since november and I never had this issue.

My computer(laptop) specs are:

--Processor Intel 2nd Gen Core i7 i7-2630QM / 2.0 GHz ( 2.9 GHz ) ( Quad-Core )

Memory

--Came with 4gb of RAM(i added more four in the day i bought the laptop)

--Hard Drive 750.0 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 7200.0 rpm

--Operating SystemMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Edition

--Display Type15.6 in TFT active matrix

--Max Resolution1920 x 1080 ( Full HD )

--Graphics ProcessorAMD Radeon HD 6770M(2gb dedicated)

Until November my drivers were the same which came with the laptop and the game would run smoothly with the in-game settings on high and it would get about 40fps(showed by fraps).

Then I stopped playing dayz and between november and now I updated the drivers from the ATI website. Now the game still gets about 40fps with the ingame configs high but every 5 to 10 seconds the game stops briefly, for about a second or two(the 40fps drop to 2 or 3 fps), making the game impossible to enjoy. If i change everything to low or very low settings, the fps would go to aournd 60 but it still drops to 2/3 fps every 5/10sec.

So i thought it was from the drivers and i formated the pc to the stock settings and installed everything using dayzcommander but the dropping fps still continued.

This happen on every map, from chernarus to taviana. I thought if i increased the fps the problem would stop so to find a solution I made all the optimization settings that there are:

Change to:

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

Done everything in http://www.dayzpvp.c...d-tweaks-guide/ (it improved a little the fps but didn't stop dropping fps issues.)

Then i tryed the Ramdisk thing and it increased the fps to around 60 with ingame settings on high but the graphic issue continued

From there I installed the lastest drivers from the ATI website and it still didn't fix it.

I can't find any other solution to this.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be or even better if there is a solution to this?

Thank you,

have you tried using the -winxp , -cpuCount=4, exThreads=7 in your start up parameters? My fps shot up when i added these so arma would actually make use of my quadcore and force dx 9

also check that vsync is not enabled, when i first installed the game for some reason it was enabled by default

Thank you Easy_Tiger for your reply, unfortunaly it didn't work.

Here's a video i recorded, the first part was recorded with fraps and the second one with my smartphone.
