Modern DayZ SA map (idea)

I would really like to play in a modern environment. Taviana is very close, but going through and looting a suburb, city etc. Would be very enjoyable. Also cars should be abundant. It could set the theme of the outbreak being recent. P.S Idk if a forum like this has already been created or not

Hi, welcome to the forum. Yea it has been mentioned a few times over the last 9-10 months but that doesn't mean it's still not a good idea to set the game on a more modern, western map. I think even Rocket himself ina recent press release said he had plans or ideas for this in stand alone later down the line.

I agree also that cars should be more abundant, but I think the counter to that should be that roads are heavily blocked and congested (making car travel difficult in it's self) and fuel should be more of a hassle to get hold of, both time consuming and dangerous to syphon, store or move with.

Well my outlook is probably biased as I lived in a suburb right outside of a city all of my life. I see where you are coming from, I now understand this topic is easily biased.

I think he means set it in a more western city, as to be fair the eastern European map, with it's Ladas and Skodas isnt exactly showcasing all the mod cons of western civilization in 2013
