Using steam Arma, can't run DayZ

Scenario 1)

I follow the steam installation (http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=2421) and when I launch Combined Operations, it loads and a cmd prompt briefly flashes and nothing happens.

No idea what is causing it.

Scenario 2)

Whenever I join servers via the six launcher, the game launches and it starts to connect, then i get about 3 loading screens that keep restarting and after that is says wait for host and kicks me to the main menu.

I know other people are having this issue, really want to get DayZ working, I just bought Arma II just for the mod..

regarding Scenario 1

try running steam as admin or try to make a screenshot of the cmd prompt - my guess is that the batch file is unable to locate/access reg.exe

Already ran steam as admin, tried it again as well. Trying to get a screen cap but it's not coming out too good.
