Mechanic idea: Add rock paper scissors ability between you and up to 2 others. This would be a great way to decide who gets to stay on overwatch, etc

Yeah I like this idea. Some times very small actions can add a bit of authenticity to a game.

Generally in our group it's the guy with the biggest gun who chooses the lookout.

Well this could extend to other mini games. Such as a full pack of cards with realistic textures. Then you create a pile and place your cards in play in the pile. Or maybe dice, you choose 1-3 die and it gives a number 1-18 etc.

normally i just count to 3, and on 3 they say their choice. A entire mechanic is a little over doing it I think

like today we got the gauss rifle on namalsk, and had no legitimate way in game to decide who gets it. Rock paper scissors would have rocked (excuse the pun)

such stuff adds great flavor, and as "disorder" already mentioned, extending it to card games and such... i want to see how survivors play poker in a bunker for loot/bullets!
