finkone 320 Posted January 16, 2013 I understand if you have a second one, which I don't... it would be better performance wise to have your files write to there as they record it...My question is - I do however have a external hard drive...1) Would the bit-rate be able to keep up with a 720 HD recording/writing to it?2) Would this even improve performance?3) Any other suggestions in regards to capturing quality video in relation to better storage options?Basically what do some of you guys do? Just starting to get into recording I guess...
jblackrupert 308 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Bandicam is 1000x better.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandicamhttp://www.bandicam.comIt's not a system hog like FRAPS. Edited January 16, 2013 by jblackrupert
beno_83au 11 Posted January 16, 2013 I use Fraps onto a WD 2TB drive while fraps is installed onto C:\. The WD is plugged in through a USB 3 port and (with a good PC) it records on a 1:1 quality without a performance hit, whereas if I record it onto C:\ it does slow the game down.Fraps may be a hog, but it all runs fine and with good quality, so I'm happy with it.
