DeanBandit2450 0 Posted June 18, 2012 just wanted to throw the idea out there of having random start gear.it would have to based on percentages, for certain gear only, same as loot piles. perhaps there could be a percentage chance for the number of items you receive too. zeeb 6 Posted June 18, 2012 Nah then people just respawn until they get the best possible gear there is to get in the randomizer, even if the devs wont state which guns will be in the randomizer, people will still figure it out and abuse it.Spawning without a thing is how it supposed to be.I dont like that you spawn with food and water, these should be the first priority in the game when you start, looking for food and water. Tujin 0 Posted June 18, 2012 To prevent respawn whoring, you could have the tables diminish each time you respawn, only restoring over time.Imagine if your starting weapon is determined by a random number, 1-100 (1D100)0-75 you get nothing, 75-90 makarov 90-95 Revolver 96-98 G17 99 M1911 (Or something like that)On first respawn, a normal roll, but it also puts a -10 or even -15 modifier on your next roll. I'm not savvy enough to know how that could be coded, but starting pools of weapons would be reasonable, so its not "every" weapon, but maybe a few small handguns and hunting rifles with VERY finite amounts of ammo (more for the pistols, less for the rifles). Those are fairly comparable, and not necesserially worth reloading, and you could even balance the OTHER items as well (maybe you get a flashlight and some food with the least desirable, and just a can of coke with the shotgun).There are ways to balance it out...
