Ovation 52 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) So from what it looks like in the tumbler, the new character models are more similar to Arma IIIthen i expected, if they are some similar form of models then i would assume there animation are alikehere a video of the animation in arma III I am interested on what people would expect from the animations in Standalone for the future? "not just for release"What i personally would one day like is the same crawling mechanic in Arma III seem at 0:41he is able to lean from side to side, "almost like he's dead witch would be an awesome "Fake death"he can also sit backwards witch looks bad-ass. djcounta101@hotmail.com 3 Posted January 14, 2013 it works great but i think the jogging animation is a bit to shuffly. the leaning and peeking thing looks good also..
FinalNinja447 129 Posted January 14, 2013 DayZ Standalone is based off Take On Heli engine, not the Arma 3 one. However, they should be somewhat similar.
gamerman001 182 Posted January 14, 2013 Dear Arma III..... PLEASE dont go CoD on us.... please.
Fraggle (DayZ) 15720 Posted January 14, 2013 if you've watched many of the game clips and demo's you'll know that they're pretty much making the exact opposite of COD. The only thing you can compare is that they both have guns and people in.
Zombie Jesus 723 Posted January 14, 2013 if you've watched many of the game clips and demo's you'll know that they're pretty much making the exact opposite of COD. The only thing you can compare is that they both have guns and people in.Agreed, BI knows what ArmA games are for and it is not for a casual FPS that mimics CoD, the core ArmA fans are looking for a better milsim experience not some shameless rip like Medal of Honor. They even get the benefit of many gamers like myself now being huge ArmA fans since DayZ sparked my interest in ArmA 2. I am really looking forward to ArmA 3 because I have enjoyed ArmA 2 a great deal despite the game being fairly old when I finally tried it out.
Ovation 52 Posted January 15, 2013 I agree that the sprinting animations are some what silly, it's all the others i can see imported to standalone
iashford 73 Posted January 15, 2013 Yeah, I hope they have either new or arma3 animations. The arma2 options are quite... Quite terrible lol. Some of them anyway. That running animation is yuck. And to be honest, in dayZ, I'd rather not look like I'm moving around like a soldier. But I do hope we get that last stand feature where you lie on your back. That's really cool and looks useful!Another set of animations I'd like to see implemented is limping when low on health. Right now, you run around like you're on speed, even when you're close to death. Doesn't seem right.
Roark92 90 Posted January 15, 2013 yeah all the leaning anims looked sweet especially the one on the back. and with the option to duck down and peek up under/over cover would allow first person players to recieve some of the "periscope" benefit of 3dp, without the magic! which might mitigate all the rage debates which would be good for forum resources lol. but im sure dayz standalone (or its just dayz right? :P) will have its own animations and i dont believe they will settle for anything less than great. so lets see what the dev team can do and then we will see what can be improved. dgeesio 1034 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) tbh if its more streamlined better animations on movement im happynot too much bothered about graphics as long as the gameplay is great B) Edited January 15, 2013 by dgeesio

guisho 258 Posted January 15, 2013 I hope that they can introduce into the SA something like this, it's a pretty good visual and mechanical improvement.
