Life of a Hero

Recommended Posts

I kow what you're thinking, "Wrong thread". Well, you might be right, but might as well a short story about a hero and his journy to help out some bros. I logged in on a US server that had about 14 people in it. Once I joined, being the nice guy I am, I ask how everyone is doing, most people are fine, others are complaining that soem bandits got a helicopter flying around Cherno, killing everybody. So of course, I say fuck that and headed about northwest of Berezino. As I hit the tree line, I asked anyone in side if they wanted to partner up. (Yes, I do know people will kill me, but if the off-chance they don't) I got to responders, another hero and a new guy with him. I tell them to head to Dubrovka, knowing one of them had a map. I arrive there in about five minutes and set up shop, looking around with my LMG with thermo/NV. Nothing, not even a zombie in sight. After about ten minutes, I ask for there location, they say they just past Pusta. Well fuck that I thought, and said to meet at a barn near Guglovo. They agreed. After making it there before them, because they found a crashed helicopter, I hear a strange noise, a horn. Turns out, we got a guy driving around in a bus. Well, he hails me and says I could ride with him, but hes almost out of gas. I say whatever and come out of the barn, where Irun about 400 meters to his bus, just before I get in, I hear someone trying to snipe me. Glad COD kids play DayZ or that guy would've been a okay shot. Myself and the bus driver managed to make our escape and drive to Novy Sober. I'm being nice and I thank the guy for the ride, saying I'll do whatever I can to help. He says just watch the area as he gets gas. Him and I jump out of the bus and after he feels it up, he turns around and shoots me in the head with his sniper. In side, he tells me sorry. Unlike most kids, I don't rage and cuss the guy out, instead, I ask why he did it and why he broke the bro code. Thus, ends the life of my first DayZ guy.

Equipment:

About 12 mags for it

You mad bro?

Not really, I thought it was fun and having as much as equipment I as I had, the game was getting to easy, best to challenge oneself, unlike thoughs who go Bandits.

I've met people like me before, its just like 1 in 10 people. People like going Bandits because all you do is shoot people. I just think is harder to help people than to kill them.

That's a hell of a lot of gear for your first ever survivor...

Did you spawn with it? Did someone give it to you?

No, I found it with two buds of mine. My guy has been alive for about four months now. He finally died.

Four months? That's a very long time. Best I've managed is just over a month and in that time I had over 120 murders. I was eventually killed by a hacker unfortunately. They just nuked the server.

It just seems strange that after living for 4 months you'd trust a complete stranger enough to ride a bus with them and not expect to be killed / betrayed.

From day one I trust strangers when my friends weren't on and while some tried to kill me, I would just disable them, not actually kill them. I got my hero skin in about a week, after helping out some strangers with meds and what not. I would also find rifles on the server and mark their location for those with maps. The only reason I was so chill about the bus ride was I didn't care if teh guy lived or died anymore. The game jsut got too easy, I could two shot people and zombies couldn't even hurt me. So I spent alot of time in the woods and basiclly watched people for afar and help them when I could.

I used to play like you but then I got a bandit skin defending myself in a firefight near NWA.

Perhaps this time last week I had a hero skin but lost it when I logged out, now with a bandit skin I find myself having to defend myself in firefights time and time again with no idea how it is affecting my humanity level.
