Put a map in the starting equipment

I've only just got this game/mod, and wanted to play it with friends, the only problem is that it takes like an hour to find one another, which makes the game quite boring.

When I go to find a map, I found it difficult to even find one around the towns.

I would play this game a lot more if there was a way I could find out where I was and where my mates are so we can meet up and play together rather than playing alone for the first hour or 2

if you just got this game/mod, play it first then give some real suggestions here.

its tells you where you are when you spawn, that should be enough.

You don't need a map. Just follow the power lines, read the road signs and use your watch as a compass.

I hope you're kidding.. Its like asking for the essentials, a compass, watch, hunting knife, box of matches and an axe. The map is kinda hard to find, only found it twice in my Day-Z life. I like how it is, makes the game ALOT harder to navigate through, which makes it even more amazing to randomly bump into a military zone.
