Textures Popping / Flickering

Recommended Posts

hello and welcome to my ARMA 2 hell.

I'm close to giving up and seeing what other militarily sim their are but in a last grasp effort, i come here.

My Problem

In short: Every time i turn around the textures of trees & bushes seem to "pop" or "flicker".

i tried the normal ARMA 2 , and the problem persists.

i have three examples NOTE: these are on mostly very low settings, to make sure that it's not to do with high settings.

NOTE sorry about the quality, i don't know what happened.

EXample 1 - look at the bush.

EXample 2 - look at the tree on the hill , you cant really see that clear but it does pop.

Example 3 - the tree can clearly be seen moving.

Don't forget, if your problem is specific to Arma2 you can use the BIS forums. They're the guys that made the game :)

Edit - I just watched your vids and I think you may be a bit dramatic calling it "hell". If that's annoying you then DayZ (which is a free mod for Arma 2) will send you over the edge.

I already have posted it there but Dayz is more popular and has increased traffic so i thought i would post in both.

Late perhaps but I had the same problem on a AMD FX 4100 and 8 gigs of ram, running win 7 ultimate 64.

To fix it all I had to do was remove all the extra start-up parameters I added to the shortcut. Got rid all of those old parameters that are now obsolete due to beta patches and updates. Things -cpuCount=, so on and so forth. I just run -nosplash and -skipintro along with any mods i am running and I haven't had that problem since... Also, I have found ARMA 2 plays rough a hard drive, so keep it defragmented regularly.
