Backpack along with all my ammo disappeared randomly...

So I logged on yesterday (And this is my 2nd day of playing), I was all excited to start searching for a new weapon, and I noticed my backpack was randomly missing, along with every magazine I've had. I lost a shotgun (Forgot which one) 3 cans of food, 2 pepsi's, canteen of water, 4 magazines of DMR sniper rifle ammo and shotgun shells. I still have my DMR sniper rifle, but not ammo, all I have left is a pepsi, and revolver with 2 bullets left, currently dying of hunger whenever I get on, and doubt I'll make it to a market in time. I don't have logs either so I can't cook meat from animals (If I somehow find one).

Not sure what to do, was really happy at how far I've gotten already, had a Gillie suit, a DMR sniper rifle, a rare shotgun, and a revolver :/.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I had a 24 slot backpack, that's how I could fit so much stuff in it, currently have no backpack.

EDIT2: I've read up on some bugs happening on specific servers, and I've been playing on the same one since I've started(It's a US### server) and have logged on/off numerous times. I exit the same way as everyone else with the disconnect/abort thing. So I don't think it's connected to the server or how I exit the game.

You mentioned a ghillies, there used to be a bug around that would remove your backpack when put on, I don't know if it's still around I thought it had been fixed.

Loosing a backpack maybe caused if you swim in lakes or just swimming in general. It's quite rare now, but it happens from time to time.

Sorry about your loss :| , but finding gear in DayZ is quite easy and I bet you can find some more gear quite easily :murder:

Don't get attached to your gear. Get attached to the experience the game has to offer. When I started, I'd live in the hills, collect things, and have a nice base to hang my hat, alllllll alone, at the end of the day. While it was a fun gaming style for a bit... after the server I called home died one day, and never came back...

I have heard of players reporting items disappearing from being hacked in... since your hunger levels where so low - maybe someone was playing on your character some how and decided to give you pack away? Low ammo, low food...

Did you start in the same position you logged off at?
