Having FPS Issues

Recommended Posts

I have a fx 6200

Gtx 660 2gb

8gb ram

In the wilderness i get around 30+ fps with most settings maxed out accept AA and filtering on low and shadow disabled and pppa disabled too but when i am towns i am getting really bad frame rates and drops to around 17-25 fps and some points unplayable if i get into a shoot out. what can i do to fix this as if i have my settings on normal or low the frame rate stays the same as it would with high

If your 3d resolution is set to the same resolution the screen the screen wont be blurry and your game well look better. Some servers are laggier than others, trust me. I got a GTX 680 with an i5 2500k and I still lag on some servers, those that got over 60 people atleast and a lot of shooting.

I fully understand. Got a core 2 duo @ 3.6 ghz, 4 gb ram and an hd 4850. I get 14 fps in the cities, outside around 30 like you which would be fine. Definitly disable post processing effects. With 14 fps yes I can walk around and loot and such, but if anyone who has e.g. > 30 frames crosses my way I'm dead, its really a huge handicap to shoot with low frames.

Try -cpucount=6 in the command line when you run the game, you should be getting better performance than that, although I know ArmA and AMD CPUs don't get along.

You will get frame loss on the Arma 2 engine, it's not very optimized, wait for standalone man :)
