Server Bound Characters

Recommended Posts

After playing a while, i've noticed a very popular trend for players is simply to go to a loot spawn they want and then log into different servers until they find whatever it is they want. I'd rather our characters be bound to the server so we can't exploit this.

Difficult to get anyone to agree to that, though your suggestion is understandable and sensible.

Ping requirements, lack of server activity, clan servers, etc.

All would have implications.

Well to be fair a server with a ping requirement you can't meet wouldn't be a server you have a character on to begin with.

Servers with low activity would have higher activity due to players not just popin in to take loot and dc.

Clan servers.. not sure on this subject

And best of all , travel servers would be non functional exploits as well.

The advantages for the common player are raised as bandits can't suddenly swarm the good loot locations and camp them unless they earned those weapons and placements themselves on the server.

Another is that players whom have exploited this server hoping can't host their own server make it private and set up a thousand tents to contain loot to go griefing on other servers with. Clan servers probably have this going for them right now.

The cons are out weighted by the pros from this sort of change IMHO.
