ZemmerindeEmmer 0 Posted January 8, 2013 So, Let me first apologize for my bad English language. I'm Dutch so I am trying my best!Yesterday I bought Arma II, Arma OA and the beta of OA. Before I bought them i ran canyourunit.com to make sure My PC can run it.My stats were above recommended so I installed them. After I got those installed I installed DayZ Commander. Which was the best way to run it.I first started up Arma II and it started lagging like hell. In the main menu.. It took me half an hour to start the single player and still it froze every 10 seconds and then I could play for 2 seconds before freezing up again. I wasn't pissed at all I was just afraid that Arma OA and eventually DayZ would do the same! That's what happened. DayZ did the same. I could go in a server just to play for 2 seconds in 10 seconds..It feels like a waste of money and it really makes me mad.My updates are according to Commander:Arma 2 : 100296DayZ : 1.7.4.4It should be up to date right?Hopefully any of you smart people can help me out.Greetings, Jim
Timmymachine109 (DayZ) 235 Posted January 8, 2013 Do you have your video memory (in advanced part of video options) set to default...the game is old and if you have it set to anything else it will limit your memory usage
ZemmerindeEmmer 0 Posted January 8, 2013 What do you mean? I'm not that good with PC's you know.. I've tried to set everthing on the lowest possible.. It almost looked like Minecraft lol!But still didnt work! :(
Timmymachine109 (DayZ) 235 Posted January 8, 2013 If you go in to video options in game then click on advanced. There should be an option called video memory...set that to default...any of the others will really slow down your game

chris_heyward 47 Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) Also, running unnecessary programs and services causes lag. So can viruses, dying hardware, fragmented HDD's and an operating system that has been bombarded with updates for over a year Edited January 8, 2013 by Be4st
