Steam overlay not working :/

Recommended Posts

I've been playing with it alot, and although I'm sort of new, I'm now used to working well with the beta patches and startup command codes etc, and I know how to fix errors like Direct3d not loading etc.

I've tried, launching Arma2CO from steam, and it plays fine, but no steam overlay appears.

I also tried adding the .exe as a non-steam game and again it runs and plays fine, but I cant use the overlay.

What really miffs me is that I cant take screen shots.

Anyone had this/know possible soultions/causes?

Would appreciate any input thanks :)

P.S. I double checked that my shortcuts for scrnshot etc are fine, ad it all works for other games

I am also having issues with this. I have enabled everything in Steam settings, including enabling the overlay in A2 and OA, set the shortcut key, and even made sure that hardware acceleration was enabled. It works in ARMA2:OA, but I can't pull up the overlay or take screenshots in Day Z. Any help would be appreciated!

here is how I run the game with beta and steam overlay (taken from this guide by xCryonic)

this part you have to do after every new beta patch installation

- optional step: go to "\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\" and rename "arma2oa.exe" to "arma2oa.bak" for backup

- copy the "arma2oa.exe" from "\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\" to "steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\"

this part you only have to do once

- open steam, right click on ArmA2:OA, click Properties and then Set launch options

- enter "-mod=@dayz -beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion" (without the quotes) and click OK and Close

then you just start the game from steam as Combined Operations
