Slower food usage, rarer food.

Now this is my view of things but there is way too much food laying around. Now i have to admit it help when you don't have access to a blood bag and you can stuff yourself with beans in nearly every towns.

But the food should be much more scarce than this, you should have plenty of time to find your next meal but you should be relieved when you do, death from hunger should happen much more often in my opinion :)

I have to agree. The only thing I have to worry about generally with food in game is how much damn space it takes up. It'd be more interesting if I actually needed as much as I carry around, and I actually worried about finding more.

I remember this trailer-->

Bunch of guys hunting you down for a bottle of water.

I actually posted this exact idea a few weeks back. I agree completely. It should be possible to slowly waste away from hunger.

It's a bit odd that I find I need to eat at least 3 times a day in DayZ.

Survival books will state that you can survive for quite some period (weeks!) on little to no food, though this period is affected by your activity levels, too.

I'm surprised raw and cooked steaks don't go rotten. Would be a thought to implement.
