no guns shot sounds with from other players

1st off ill list my pc specs

i5 3570k stock clock

msi z77a gd65

g skill ripjaw 8gb

curcial m4 256gd ssd (os and favorite games/programs)

1tb seagate baracuda

sapphire HD7870 2GB OC

sound device i have tryed- plantronicc 7.1 headset/on borad sound/ pc monitor speak via hdmi

now on to the problem. i cannot in any situasion hear gun shots of other people be they right next to me, nor far away. i've tried relintalling dayz, beta patch ive delted all the arma game sounds and redownloaded then tried on diffrent sound devices E.g usb head set, monitor speakrs

it work fine but has suddelny come about after installing other dayz map (i think)

any idea please please post an ill get back to you :)

I second this bug, its started to happen around a week ago. but its on and off.

Currently reinstalling Arma2 and all the expansions as I have this same problem. I can hear my own gun but cannot hear any other guns being fired, even when right next to me, and no one seems to be able to hear my gun. On the one hand my DMR is silenced but on the other I have died more often since 1.7.5.1 as I have no indication that I am being fired at until I get hit or they miss in the direction I am moving.
