Roomate and I have had enormous glitch (1.7.1 / Six launcher / Cant join server)

Ok so this is pretty insane.

We are playing last night and got disconnected ( internet went out )

My roomate says he needs to run out for a bit, would I mind hopping on his character for a sec and to pull him back (he was raiding I was overwatch)

I say sure, swap steam accounts, log in on his steam, pull his dude back and in the process lose connection again.

We come back later both sit down to play, I log in and he now is getting kicked off the server. I hop off, he finally gets on but he is MY character. Now I am getting kicked off when I try and join.

We now cant play together and the same identity (my character) is linked to both steam accounts.

My brother and I are also having this same problem. First he was playing on my steam account until I gave the game a try. He bought his own copy of ARMA and every time he logs in, it is on my character. Any way to help the database know that we are two separate people? Or are we just doomed to share a character?
