nort0n 3 Posted January 4, 2013 Hey guys, ever since installing my new card I've been having some issues with textures. Small or thin textures seem to flicker, it really bugs my eyes and I find it extremely distracting.CPU: i5-3570kGPU: Sapphire 7870 OC EditionMobo: Asrock Extreme 4RAM: Patriot Viper III 8GB @ 2133mhzPSU: Cooler Master 650W 80+ CertifiedI've also tried this card on a similar system with the same results:CPU: Phenom 965 BE\GPU: SameMobo MSI 770-C45RAM: 4GB Patriot Viper II @ 1600mhzPSU: SameI've tried many different configs both in game and in CCC, I've tried drivers 12.8 through 12.11. terminal_boy 860 Posted January 4, 2013 I run the standard 2GB Sapphire version of the 7870 and don't see that issue.650 Watts is plenty unless you're running a second GPU or video capture card. What Catalyst Control Centre settings do you have in the Preset you run for DayZ?Open CCC at click on Gaming > 3D Application Settings. Here's what works best in terms of appearance and performance for me:Anti-Aliasing : Use application settingsAnisotropic Filtering : Use application settingsTessellation : AMD OptimisedCatalyst AI : Texture Filtering Quality = Quality. nort0n 3 Posted January 5, 2013 I've used your exact settings - and I'm still having the same issue, only difference is that the trees flicker less and seem to have semi-transparent borders (with white pixel flickering). So you don't notice these issues at all? After watching some youtube videos of ppl with 7870s/7850s playing Arma 2 or Dayz I've seen this issue. What drivers are you currently using? nort0n 3 Posted January 5, 2013 Can someone plz tell me if this texture flickering is normal or not? Before I RMA my card I want to be sure. Thanks =D

disorder 344 Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) "and seem to have semi-transparent borders"Woah woah, turn off alpha to coverage(ATOC ) and AA in game. Shadows and ultra high settings will stress a lot of pcs out too, leave them on high at most. Turn off post process and put the game resolution up to 114% and keep interface on 100% and use the 'over render' technique* which gives anti aliasing effect.Personally I think it's either a vsync issue (try and force on, or at least adaptive) or possibly an anisotropic issue (try 4x or 8x)Visibility distance is in meters, 2000 being 2km, you can't see that far anyway. 1500 is more than enough.* Patent Pending Edited January 7, 2013 by disorder
