Can't get into a server.

Dl'ed ArmaII:CO pack from steam. Used Six Updater to get DayZ. Shows 1.7.1 version. When I try to log into a 1.7.1 server, it get the 41kb mission file then it gives error: No entry 'bin\config.bin\CfgWeapons.'.

On other servers it just kicks me back to the server list after 5mins on 'receiving data'.

Either way, I have yet to get into the game. Any ideas?

Everyone gets the "No entry 'bin\config.bin\CfgWeapons.'" error every now and then. Just click "Okay" 'cuz it doesn't actually do anything. Same goes for some other minor errors, like "missing backpack information" or stuff like that.

As for the "receiving data" blank screen - yeah, that happens. Comes with the Alpha territory, unfortunately - nothing we can do about it =(

you need the latest beta patch for arma 2 (93825) => http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

When you join a server make sure it runs the same beta version or an older one.

there are threads that will explain you how to install and launch the beta patch version of ArmA.

PS : You can downgrade to 1.7.0 if you want a good experience, this version is more stable and enjoyable.

Also be patient and try multiple servers.

The error you get (No entry 'bin\config.bin\CfgWeapons.) is not important and won't prevent you from playing the game.

2 hours and still can't get in the game. Very sloppy coding to give new players the beta version. Nice way to turn people off to the game. Doesn't matter what server I try, I can't get into any one. Closest I get is the player list, with the meadow landscape in the background with some town/village on the right side and 'receiving file'

Guess I'll search for how to downgrade to 1.7.0

Never had such an experience with a mod before.
