Laptop desyncs when 2 PCs in same house play DayZ?

Hey folks,

I'm getting a very strange issue that I can't seem to resolve. Our network is 40m download and 20m up verfied via speedtest.net. When my nephew and I try to play on the same server my notebook desyncs and lags like crazy even while our speedtest speeds are testing fine. The only resolution to this has been to hardwire the laptop to the router which isn't a viable long-term solution. When they are both on wireless (laptop is N and desktop is G) the laptop lags like nuts.

TRIED: Reinstall wireless drivers, change router radio channels and screw with various router settings.

Must be one incredible laptop. Try hard wiring the desktop Just because the speeds are what they are does not mean that your router can separate and push the bandwidth. My roommate is running Halo 4 on LAN while I run DayZ wireless with no issues. And it is not the best router. Though hardwired will always be better no matter what.

What about other online activity? or is it only Dayz?

I should have clarified that this only happens in dayz, No other games. Someone can be playing blops2 online on the xbox, one on the ps3, 4 PCs on in the house and 2 people gaming on those (with other games) and our network runs perfectly fine. (I have tried disconnecting everything other than the two dayz PCs and the same thing happens.)

Best thing i can suggest is start steam as admin.

I really cant think of anything else haha

edit: do you have any other computers you may be able to run dayz on, to test if its only the laptop that is getting this problem?

maybe the wifi receiver in the laptop is defective...

Temps are good, it runs the game spectacularly. It's an Asus gaming rig. I'm at a complete loss here myself.

edit: Again when hardwired the lag goes away, I just can't keep a 200ft ethernet cable laying around the house lol.

What happens when you play dayz only on your laptop (over wifi) without anyone playing on the pc?

simply put, its something with wifi and dayz not liking each other

Yessir, I just can't figure out why Dayz hates two wifi signals. Very odd problem IMO.

Maybe the two signals are *confused* as they are sent from one ip to the server

strange though cause each pc has a specific physical address

Can you port forward the router somehow for the servers you are playing on? I've had issues like that before with games when two people on the same wireless are playing the same game, usually the same room/server. Port forwarding fixed it. But I have two brothers in my clan that play on the same wireless every time they play dayz, and have never had an issue. It's possible that the game is pulling more bandwidth than other games you play. You might also look into latency fixes.

How would I figure out what ports to forward? I assume the admin could tell me but on our homeserver they speak some languageI can't identify ven though it's a US server, heh.
