frame rate issues (gtx 660)

I have issues running DayZ at a good framerate. I shouldn't have any issues as I have a powerful graphics card and haven't had issues maxing out any other games, but on DayZ (even on the lowest settings) I have a low framerate of 15-25 in cities and ~30 in the wilderness. I've seen other people on YouTube max out DayZ at a great framerate w/ the same card as me. Any ideas on what my issue may be or how to fix it?

EDIT: it also seems whatever preset i use (low/medium/high/very high) the framerate is about the same.

System Specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 3.0GHz Quad-Core

GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5

Motherboard: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3

Memory: 4G G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1600

PSU: Cooler Master GX Series 750w

HDD: 500GB Samsung 7200 RPM
