The Legit Pie 18 Posted January 1, 2013 The DMR, 8000 damage knocks them out on hit, no pinpoint accuracy or zeroing, usable with nvgs.Yay or Nay?
barrett_killz 229 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) Depends on the operation (mission). And I think this applies to any sniper rifle. For example, VSS Vintorez is silenced and can shoot up to 400 meters, as far as I remember, and you can't compare it for example, with SVD. konrad.barwitzki@googlemail.com 1 Posted January 1, 2013 Yay all in all a good sniper rifle. Good accuracy, large clip, high rate of fire and a low recoil. Not my fav sniper but reliable.
the13th (DayZ) 32 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) DMR good all-rounder. Vintorez as stated only really effective to around 400 (bullet drop is like an SVD over 3 times the range!), but can be used for harrasing out to 600+, ive had a 620 headshot with Vintorez, but i had to walk 3 shots onto the target first to get it.(*Shot taken in Arma2, not DayZ)Id happily have a DMR most of the time. AIRCAV 62 Posted January 1, 2013 Note that the dots on the DMR are a little funky, unzoomed spans a wide range of distance, zoomed-in is the middle segment of that wide range, not the extreme end. Sensible if you assume that zoomed-in is designed to cover the most frequently-used engagement distances, confusing if you expect something else. The wiki page lists the conversion from range to dots.I'd also consider downloading murcielago's shooting range ver 2, and practicing with it in single-player*, so that if you do need to use the DMR in anger for pvp, you aren't inadvertently using the wrong dot- which would be short lived, and probably annoying.*I think you actually have to run it in multiplayer LAN, from Arma 2.Hope this helps,AC
