Settings & Clans not good for Mod

Ok so now that theres alot of servers for Dayz, i've started to see 1st peron only settings.It seems like its server specific and only on UO servers.Its scaring me that these settings should even be allowed,the UO guys are always screaming about how all servers should have this,but in reality these settings are shit,thats the reason why not alot of people play when those settings are in effect,not saying that some people enjoy them more than others,but the fact is that if most servers start using these settings this mod will lose traction.Some people like to call it a "noob filter" but for a player like myself who can play just as good on 1st or 3rd its just a uncalled for inconvenience,i play arma to play in 3rd person,if i really want to play 1st peron i can go play BF3 or better yet for realism PR.This whole scenario also brings up another problem,now that the people who put up the servers get to put there name on it we are back to one of the majpr problems with arma and some could say PC gaming in general,fighting for population.Right now there is not a problem but when theres not as many players across all servers theres going to be problems with ruining someone elses server to get people to play on yours.I assume since ive already heard UO players talking shit about everyone elses servers that the UO guys were on the forefront of this movement to get names put on the servers by that i mean "hosted by...."

its sad that you the developers have let people like this sink their teeth into this mod already,and i hope you guys fix this, because in the end it will hurt the mod and the end user,the "casual player".if you look at these guys mods and population on them you can see how they royally messed up their own servers and mods with the nazi attitudes and settings that even hardcore players like myself disagree with.For the record its not just UO,its UO,7th Cav,82nd,some might say 15thmeu.We all know these guys to be assholes and have crazy stuff on their servers for the most part and what i said above can apply to all of them.My solution is to enforce certain settings across the board and get rid of "hosted by..." if you set up a donation page for dayz im sure you could get enough donations to put all these servers up on your own with the money.

P.S i have not as of today to my knowledge been banned from any of the above mentioned clans servers EVER,so my comments are not based on some hatred for being banned by being an asshat or script kiddie.This post is made of my own opinions based on over a thousand hours of arma2 gameplay.I LOVE this mod and dont want to see it go down the drain like the others i have seen.

It's simple, don't join those servers. If you don't like the hardcore settings there are 4 other US servers that don't have it.

I've been on the UO server for quite some time and haven't heard any complaints on the 1st person, and if anyone wonders why and doesn't like it, they switch. It's not too hard.

There are multiple servers you can play at, having servers with these disabled can be a good idea, It makes the game more realistic, I can lay down behind a wall, go to 3rd person and use my freelook key to watch whoever im hiding from... Thats not realism is it? Though its not like all servers have this so you can choose whatever your preference is.

As for the UO guys bashing, record names and like fighter said, complain on the unitedoperations.net forums. UO hosted these servers to help the mod grow not to take over the mod. So if some guys are really letting the team down please let us know.

The DayZ dev team aren't taking donations at this time, Just FYI.

Personally, from what i've heard among my friends who are NOT hardcore players on UO, they actually wish ALL the servers had forced First Persona and no reticle.

And that was about 7-8 people.

Actually, funny story.

One person, who i never saw on UO, came in and asked "First person only?"

Everyone replied "Yeah, its forced."

Person replied "Good. How it should be."

You're just butthurt. Plus, you can force first person through the GAME ITSELF, there is NOTHING the mod can do. =/

Personally, Rl-Warrior, and I realize you wern't talking to me, but you seem to be the kind of asshat douchebag who has a job I don't really think you deserve. In all honesty, I've never even heard of you, though i have heard of most of the people i've seen playing lately, and even the dev's of this mod.

To be frank, i feel like your life doesn't matter to most people and you're doing this vying for attention, or you're just a complete sociopath who feels like you can disregard people on the internet simply because you don't feel the threat of getting punched in the face.

Now, i personally have to say i'm currently unemployed, my last job was at mcdonalds, and i don't have all the things i would like, although I will admit my computer is better than most people. (See Grass and distance thread).

My personal opinions of you are as follows:

I am not jealous of you in any way, shape, or form. Personally, my life is great. My girlfriend is awesome, and actually have some people wondering how I got someone so beautiful. My computer skills are, somewhat lacking lately, but i'm relearning, and I'm happy to know that most people think i have a lot of potential.

That SAID, Your english skills are quite atrocious, your attitude is that of a 12 year old who has no friends, and your mentality, well... let's just say if I was in the position of hiring you, i'd rather call the cops.

I'd recommend you stop making yourself look like an ass. You're going to find yourself on the wrong side of someone's mood and you're going to regret it.

If you have a problem, please PM a mod such as myself, or a member of the DayZ dev team. Or contact the player(s) involved, or the 3rd party community, you think is responsible for this. Starting thread that are evidently going to turn into a bash thread are just so pointless and will find themselves being closed or deleted a lot quicker than I let this one go on for.

The servers having a mix of 3rd and 1st person and only 1st person, is a good thing, it adds variety and suits everyones playing styles. If you do not like a particular server, then do not go on it.
