Starting Problems

Hallo

Im new and from Germany (ihr könnt deutsch schreiben, das wäre mir sehr hilfreich), i loaded ArmaII: CO and Dayz, everything works, bur when i join a server an the game is recieving data, it says a data is missing. I click OK an continue.

On the servers i came, there is just a large meadow, where dead soldiers are, and nothing else.

Where is a server with the real map? Or is it the real map? Because in Videos they spawn at the beach and you can see houses...

I have updated to version 1.7.1. Does anyone know a good server for this version?

I am new to DayZ an its really complicated to come into the game...please help me.

Rejoin a different server, that should fix the problem. You spawned in something called the 'debug forest'. Its a holding area where people initially spawn before the server works out where they should spawn on the real map (I think thats how it works anyway).

Sometimes you will actually spawn there, most of the time you can't move but sometimes you can and rarely you will spawn there 'properly' which is why all thoese bodies were there. I have even spawned there as a bird once.

I'm not sure exactly what's going on, but it sounds like you're spawning on a debug plain, and some jackhole is killing people in the debug area. Just disconnect and try another server. It's a pain, but that's how the netcode is right now =(

Thanks, i joined another server, and there i saw houses an trees. But i could not move, on the screen in gray it says: "You are runnnig an incorrect version of DAYZ_CODE, please download this file from dayzmod.com/downloads (you are running version 1.71 an the server is running 1.7.0)"

This is strange, because this it says only on server with the "real" map (with houses etc.)

But in the server description is says the server is running 1.71, so why i have to download 1.70?

That server has not updated to 1.7.1, and unfortunately you won't be able to play on it unless you roll-back to an older, unsupported version of DayZ. It's likely that way because 1.7.1 is showing significant problems with zed spawn-timers.

Just hang in there, and make sure the servers you join say "1.7.1" - then pray that they're actually telling the truth, unlike that server you were on.

My Computer is not bad, he runs every other game without problems.

The lag is also an issue with 1.7.1's timers, and (again, from my limited understanding) has something to do with the server constantly trying to spawn more zeds and loot.

Should i patch down to 1.70?

You can if you want to, but I think it's a headache that isn't worth going through. Rocket's got a hotfix for the loot / zed timers in the pipeline, and that should probably fix most of the issues within a day or two. I'm waiting for that before I play again, because I've a 15+ day old survivor and I don't want to lose him to a glitch that's already been reported.

You, on the other hand, have a brand new character with little to lose, so it may pay off to explore the DayZ world some more even though it's not really ideal right now. If I didn't have a legacy character, that's what I'd be doing.

but its night and dark...its so unbelievylbe shitty dark, i cant see anything.

How can i make light?
