Chat locking problems

When I'm playing Dayz and i hold down the caps lock button the microphone symbol pops up and when i speak my name also pops up, meaning other people can hear me, and they can. When i double tap caps lock the microphone symbol pops up but when i talk my name doesn't pop up and other people cant hear me. This has forced me to hold down the caps lock button to talk to my friends and other people playing, leaving me in a very awkward hand position. I have searched for this problem online and found nothing, and i would appreciate an answer.
