DaEpicPwn 0 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Okay, so I have Arma II and Operation Arrowhead on Steam. My laptop has one terabyte hdd and 6gb RAM. Whenever I play DayZ on anyserver everything appears black and white with the exception of my pants appearing blue and chem lights red. Nobody appears on the map. Once I came into contact with someone and the whole screen bursted into colour and I lagged like hell. The black and white problem may be my RGB filter but it got fixed that one time so I'm not positive. I'm not sure about the lag though, my processor can handle Fallout: New Vegas. I saw someone with 4gb playing Arma II with 'low' graphics. Mine is 'very low' but still only lags whenever I see a zombie or another player but if I'm running from a zombie it doesn't lag untill I look behind me. Can anyone help or suggest something to fix it? Edited December 30, 2012 by DaEpicPwn

malau 11 Posted December 30, 2012 Maybe you have an integrated graphics card that Arma 2 doesn't work well with ? Can you list your full specs ? Do you have the Steam version, or the original DVD version, or a Steam Arma 2 and a traditional (DVD) Arrowhead mix ?Have you tried forcing Dayz to run in DirectX9 mode in the DayZ Commander settings ?Did you do all the things that you are about to feel insulted that I asked - installed the latest Arma 2 beta, installed the latest version of DayZ ? Installed your latest graphics and audio card drivers ? Installed all the latest Microsoft updates ?Try running the game as is now, but with Process Explorer running and see what percentage the CPU is running at - maybe it is running at a high average over your 4 (or 7) cores ? And Speedfan can tell you what temperature your CPU is running at when you run the game. Both of these should tell you if there are bottleneck issues with your CPU.The Arma 2 engine is a heavyweight bastard mutherfucker and is very demanding of the user's system, it is is doing much, much more than the old New Las Vegas engine is doing at any one time.Do you get the same problem if you play Arma 2 Arrowhead ? You can forced Directx9 with the -winxp command line parameter in your shortcut. Or is it just DayZ ?
DaEpicPwn 0 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) It fixed itself but it says my DayZ version is 1.62 when I clearly downloaded 1.7.4.4Also, I don't know how to do all of this, I am 13... Also, I thought myself how to do everything on a pc so I don't know if it is all right. Edited December 30, 2012 by DaEpicPwn
malau 11 Posted December 30, 2012 1.62 is the version number of Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead that Dayz uses. 1.62 is the latest version, so that is good.
