ok this is bugging the heck out of me. i join a regular churnarus server, everything is fine. i join a custum map server, Bad version, server rejected connection.

i tried reinstalling EVERYTHING to the lates version. that includes arma 2 pach, the dayz version, the map version, and battle eye. I have tried reinstalling arma 2, reinstallin arma co, reinstalling dlc, deleting orginal downloads in case of corruption and redownloading and reinstalling. verifying consistency, double checking the versions the servers (yes more than one) require, joining off dayz commander, joining off dayz's ingame server browser, and reinstalling to an older version than back to the required version.

i also tried reinstalling dayz commander

specs:

phenom II 975

gtx 550 ti

ddr3 1333 mhz

windows 7 64 bit

Make sure the server is actually running the latest version too. You might have to downgrade your version to play on some servers.

what he said. check the server version, you might want to either downgrade or find another server with the latest version.

Thank you for responding so quickly, but as i said, i have double checked the server versions. they are the right ones. anyway i have since manually uninstalled everything at once. then reinstalled. i think something was corrupt or glitching up when updating but the problem is fixed, albeit through a tedious reinstall...

I see. Perhaps an Antivirus software deleted a file due to a false positive.
